You will never be forgiven
Oddly enough, the modified doll used in Indicator is missing the same eye Brian is missing in the comics. The doll lurks and observes; is it representing Hoody? Do they share their missing eye?
The doll can be seen in the red shack in Rosswood Park in Entry #62.
Perhaps as a clue that it was Hoody who left Jay's camera in front of him.
Inquiry shows two glowing eyes that seem to be crying or bleeding. We are not sure this example is relevant, but we present it here for your examination.
Quadrant has an instance of glowing eyes of uneven size over a figure that seems to be Hoody, but the image is too distorted to know for sure. We have not grouped it with the examples in Classified, Decay and Display because the figure the eyes overlay is not as clear, the style of the eyes is more distorted than the previous glowing discs and the side the smaller one is does not coincide, making the effect feel more like a light effect than the intentional placement in the other instances.
We still believe it is worth bringing it to your attention.
Totheark videos mosty use symbolic eyes to imply surveillance and alertness, but there are a few examples of real footage of eyes used for the same purpose. In those instances, only one eye is used.
Except in Surveillance, when two separate televisions show each one eye.
We must clarify that we do not believe that this is related to the absence of an eye, but a mere stylistic choice to instate uneaseness in the viewer. However, the investigation wouldn't be complete without at least mentioning the vigilant eye imagery.
It is silent. Brian —alongside Sarah, Seth, Amy, The-Man-in-the-White-Shirt and Jay— met an early demise, an undeserved fate. Confused and alone for so long, with no one to witness and tell what he went through, there are parts of his story that will be forever forgotten.
We can only try to piece together the broken fragments of his life put in video and depicted in the comics. He was missing an eye, left, or right? We do not know. The totheark videos seem to indicate it was his left, but the comics —the material closest in time to this investigation— point to his right. When did he lose it? The only answer we can give is “at some point after being attacked by Alex in the abandoned hospital.” How did he miss it? Another mystery; but do you remember? The first time Jay set out to look for Brian, he was directed to a torn-out house. A struggle seemed to have happened there. And there was a lonely bullet casing. Could it be related?
As much as we would like to have answers for you, we only have one bigger unanswered question: Either caused by a bullet or another weapon, an attack that would lead to such an injury is often fatal. Without medics to aid him, how could Brian survive? We will explore that mystery in our next investigation. Until then.
